i HEART faces: pets

Can you tell that my dog loves to chew on and demolish her toys more than almost any other passtime? I love that I was able to catch her face like this.

I Heart Faces--Green

I love this photo of my friend, so happy to have a sunny day after a long cold winter.

Fix-It Friday 6

I used Elements to increase saturation a little, sharpen and dodge eyes, erase the hair that went through her eye, and equalize to brighten. Then I used Picasa to add some fill light, add a little glow, and increase the highlights. I think it gave it kind of an ethereal look.

i HEART faces--Creative Cropping

Okay, so I took this picture of these adorable girls at a Halloween party last October. They were both dressed as Dalmations, which just made a perfect photo op!

The SOOC shot obviously needed a lot of work, as cute as Lily and Carina are. I just loved how in this photo, Lily is so fascinated by Carina, who is about 3.5 months older. She seems totally entranced by the clapping, and I wanted to highlight that. So... cropping made a world of difference for focusing in on that!

Fix-It Friday 5

I used Picasa to add fill light and sharpen; then in Elements, I used an equalize filter, lighting effect, crop, and added a little saturation. I really wanted to put more focus on his gaze, hence the crop. Anyway, that was my stab at it!

Messy

In college, my best girl friends and I began a tradition of having a "Yummy Lunch Day," always at a nice place where we didn't normally eat. At our last one before graduation and jobs around the country split us up, my roommate here took messy tables in need of a busser to a new level by hanging her sandwich on her straw. Even she couldn't keep a straight face. :)

I couldn't decide if I should make everything black and white except Christy and the sandwich, or if it was better all in color... I have a lot to learn!
